About Department

The Department of Marathi was established in 2021-22.The department flourished with .a remarkable contribution of eminent teachers like Prof. L.S.Sonavane and Prof. P.K.Kharat.It is significant to note that teachers of other subjects also contributed a lot to development of the department.

At present Marathi is taught as a compulsory and option subject only at the B. A. I level.

The wall paper 'Ushakal' (Dawn) of the department has provided a lot of opportunities to the budding writers. Marathi Literary Association of the Department organizes various activities like Essay Competition, Elocution Competition and Poetry Recitation every year and continues to guide and encourage the amateur literary enthuziasts.
