Department Profile
The Department of Sociology was established in 2021-22. From the very beginning strength of the student was ever increasing for graduate classes.
The first Head of the department was Mane Anand Lalu. Mrs.Salagar Priyanka Pandurang worked as his colleagues in the department.
Mission:
The department's mission is to educate students about the sociological perspective and equip them with the analytical tools necessary to critically examine and understand social phenomena.
Goal:
Goals may include fostering a deep understanding of social structures, inequalities, and dynamics, as well as developing research and analytical skills.
1. Curriculum: The curriculum covers a wide range of topics within sociology, including introductory courses that provide an overview of the discipline, as well as more specialized courses in areas such as social theory, and specific subfields of sociology.
2. Faculty: The department is staffed by a diverse faculty with expertise in various areas of sociology. Faculty members are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service to the academic community and society at large.
3. Student Support and Advising: The department provides academic advising to help students navigate the program, select courses, and plan their academic and career goals.

5. Career Opportunities: The B.A. Sociology program prepares students for a wide range of career paths in fields such as social services, criminal justice, public policy, education, healthcare, market research, human resources.
